Box Score 2 PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Chatham Cougar volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on the opening night of the season, falling 3-0 against Geneva College and then dropping a 3-0 decision to Thiel College.

In the opening match of the 2014 season, the Cougars faced off against Geneva, losing 3-0. Chatham dropped three consecutive sets 25-8, 25-8, and 25-13. The Cougars saw positive play from multiple players in the opening match, including three digs, two kills, and an ace from sophomore outside hitter
Heathir McIntyre. First year outside hitter
Ava Iuliucci, finished the match with six digs and one ace. Other highlights came from the play of first year Mckenna Gamble and junior
Jessica "Hunter" Milroy, each contributing four digs.Â

The Cougars played the Tomcats of Thiel for their second game, falling 3-0 with set scores of 25-9, 25-10, and 25-11. Chatham saw improved play throughout the night. McIntyre picked up where she left off in the first match with a stat line of nine digs and three kills; Milroy, with nine digs and two kills; First Year middle hitter
Iman Morgan stood out in the second match with eight digs and two kills and Senior outside hitter
Brittany DeMeno added seven digs.    Â

Chatham will resume play on Friday, September 5th when they travel across Pittsburgh to take part in a weekend tournament at La Roche College.
