Devon Strachan

Strachan returns to Chatham to continue her Sports Information career. The Philadelphia, Pa. native graduated from Chatham in the spring of 2020 with bachelor's degrees in Criminology and Psychology and a certificate in Forensic Social Work. Strachan played hockey and softball for the Cougars and served as a captain for both teams. She was Treasurer of the Chatham University Chapter of the American Investigative Society of Cold Cases and a Research Assistant to Dr. Nichole Bayliss in the Criminology department.

Strachan began working in Chatham's Sports Information Department in the fall of her junior year in 2018, lending a hand with press releases, social media, and back-end website maintenance. In June of 2019, she was selected to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Student Program, for which she attended the annual convention in Orlando, FL alongside SIDs from NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, NJCAA, and USports (Canada) and spoke on a Divisional Day Panel for Divisions II and III.

In her senior year, she began playing a more active role in game operations, preparing live streams and assisting with in-game live statistics for Volleyball, Soccer, and Basketball. That spring, Strachan was brought on as an intern by the Presidents' Athletic Conference, working with current-season NCAA statistics and PAC statistical archives. After receiving her Master of Business Administration, Strachan is now pursuing a Master of Psychology degree.

For the 2022-23 NCAA Hockey season, Strachan was named to the Women's Hockey staff as a goaltending coach. In her own career as a goaltender at Chatham, she posted a program-record .911 save percentage, making 1,389 saves in 2,514 minutes played. She is tied for second in all-time wins with 14, three of which were shutouts.

"I am excited to have Devon Joining us this year, and I believe her experience as a goaltender at the collegiate level will be a valuable resource to our goaltenders," said Head Women's Hockey Coach Michael O'Grady. "In my first season here at Chatham, Devon helped us usher in the New Era for our program, leading us in net to our first ever UCHC playoff appearance. We are lucky to have such a great person joining our staff this year."
