Coach Mike Sherry begins his second year as an Assistant Coach for the Chatham University Men's Basketball team. Last year (2014-2015), Coach Sherry served as a Volunteer Assistant for the program.
Coach Sherry is a 2007 graduate of Chartiers Valley High School in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a 3 year starter and a 2 year captain for the Colts. He was a member of the 2004 WPIAL AAAA Championship team and the 2007 WPIAL AAA runner-up team. Sherry was named to the All-State second team and the WPIAL Class AAA Player of the Year during his senior season. He currently ranks third in school history in scoring.
Coach Sherry went on to attend Clarion University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education. He was a 4 year starter on the men’s basketball team and also a 2 year captain. Sherry was named to the PSAC West All-Conference team in 2007-2008 and eclipsed the 1,000 point mark over his four year career. Coach Sherry was also a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and made the Dean’s List for his last 3 years of school. He was also the junior varsity boys basketball coach at Redbank Valley High School and has served as a volunteer for the Chartiers Valley High School boys basketball team over the past few years.
