Rob Julian enters his second year as Chatham's Pitching Coach during the 2024-2025 academic year.
In Julian's first year with the Chatham baseball program, the pitching staff set new program bests in strikeouts, batting average against, H/9, and K/9 while compiling the second most successful season in program history. Junior Carter Beneigh earned All-PAC Honorable Mention honors after setting single-season program records in innings pitched (62.1) and strikeouts (58), while also tying the single-season program wins record (5).
Julian came to Chatham after spending the previous four seasons with the Brevard College baseball program as Associate Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator. Â
While at Brevard, Julian helped lead a turnaround that saw Brevard record its two best seasons in the last decade.  While at Brevard, Julian worked specifically with the pitching staff.  Under his tutelage, Huntley Hackley earned D3baseball.com All-Region honors in 2021.  Both Hackley (Gardner-Webb University), and Kross Robinson (UNC-Greensboro) each grad transferred to pitch at NCAA DI programs following their graduation from Brevard, while Nathan Sanders (Anderson University (SC)) and Trenten Anderson (Florida Tech) moved on to NCAA DII programs to continue their careers. Â
Prior to Brevard, Julian spent two years as the Graduate Assistant Coach with the Mercyhurst University North East Saints. Â During his time on staff for the Saints, the team appeared in two NJCAA Division II Region III tournaments, had seven players named All-Conference, nine players named All-Region, one NJCAA All-American and the OCCAC Player of the Year in the 2018 season. Â The Saints pitching staff also ranked Top 10 in NJCAA in 2018 in Strikeouts per nine innings. Â Â
Julian graduated from Allegheny College in 2017 after a four-year career as a starting pitcher for the Gators. Â He was a 2015 NCAC All-Conference honoree, and ranked among the best in the country in 2017 in fewest walks per nine innings (0.79)Â
Having attended Montour High School, Julian is a native of Pittsburgh.  Julian earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 2017 from Allegheny College before obtaining his Master’s of Science in Organizational Leadership from Mercyhurst University in 2019.
