Matt Sprinkle comes to Chatham with 20 years of coaching experience at both the scholastic and collegiate levels. Sprinkle has been a coach at Central Catholic High School for the past six years, serving as the principle assistant to Coach LaCava the last three years.
Sprinkle is also involved extensively in the evaluating and developing of amateur players in Western Pennsylvania. His accomplishments include coaching and developing the Pittsburgh Central Catholic Vikings which became one of the top baseball teams in PA in 2015, developing many "WPIAL all Section" athletes and one "Player of the Year", and sending over 30 players to play collegiate baseball, five of whom became collegiate "All Conference" athletes.
Sprinkle has coached Team Western PA to consecutive gold medals at the Keystone State Games, coached the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg to establish many team records which led to four all conference players in 2009. Sprinkle has also worked with three former professional players when they were amateurs.Â
