STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – The Chatham men's soccer team (1-4-2, 0-1-1 PAC) was handed their first conference loss of the season by Franciscan University (1-4-1, 1-0-1 PAC) by a score of 3-2.
The Barons scored first 18 minutes into the game and would hold a 1-0 lead into the second half, before adding two more in the 59th and 85 minutes to make the game 3-0 with time running out.
Chatham got on the board immediately afterwards with a header from senior defender
Owen Holub-Smith off of a corner kick from junior
Ronan Edris. The Cougars would add another four minutes later with another header from freshman midfielder
John Iratagotia off of a cross from senior
Xavier Johnston. However, the comeback bid would come up short as the game would end 3-2. Both goals marked the first in their Chatham careers. Senior goalkeeper
Max Cottrill ended his 5th start of the season with 6 saves.
The men's soccer team will return to UPMC Graham Field for their Homecoming Weekend match on Friday night September 24th at 6:30 PM against the Hiram Terriers.
