2026: Cottrill is entering his senior season.

2025: As a junior, Cottrill appeared in 12 games, starting all 12. He allowed 10 goals while making 72 saves. He ended the season with a goals against average of 0.87 and a save percentage of .878. Cottrill had a 5-3-4 record in net.

2024: As a sophomore, Cottrill appeared in 16 games, making 15 starts. He allowed 26 goals while making 92 saves. He ended the season with a 1.79 goals against average and a save percentage of .780. Cottrill had a 5-4-5 record in net.

2023: As a freshman, Cottrill appeared in nine games, making eight starts. He allowed 13 goals, making 48 saves. He ended the season with a 1.53 goals against average and a .787 save percentage. Cottrill had a 4-3-1 record in net. 

Awards: Cottrill was named Honorable Mention All-PAC in 2025 and 2024. On 11/3/25 Cottrill was named PAC Defensive Player of the Week.

Records: Cottrill holds the Chatham Men's Soccer record for most shutouts in a season with five in 2024, that season Cottrill also set the single season record in saves with 92. Cottrill also holds the career records in saves (212), wins (12) and shutouts (11).

Prior to Chatham: Cottrill attended Pittsburgh CAPA 6-12.

Personal: Cottrill is the son of Michael and Christine Cottrill.
