Pittsburgh, PA - The Cougars dropped a match against the Yellow Jackets.
The Cougars fell short in their first conference opener. The Cougars held off the Yellow jackets till the 25th minute. The Yellow jackets did not score again till right before the first half concluded.
At the start of the second half, Senior defensive midfielder, Sarah Vesico dialed it into the right pocket. She was assisted by Alaina Gould, making the game 2-1. Although the Cougars were battling back, the Yellow jackets were able to match the energy scoring in the 51st minute and again in the 56th minute.
First year goalie, Gianna Trunzo had a total of 7 saves. The Cougars had 6 shots, 4 of those shots being on goal. Unfortunately, towards the end of the second half, the Yellow jackets got one more on the Cougars making the final score 1-5.
The Cougars will travel to Loretto, PA to take on Saint Francis this Saturday at 4PM for another conference match up.
