California, PA - Chatham men's and women's outdoor track and field teams took on the Cal U Vulcans Early Bird meet.
The women's team placed 10th out of 11 teams at today's meet.
The Cougars performed well in the discus throw, earning much of their point total. Kayla Johnson and Sara Yannayon finished 4th and 6th, respectively, to lead the Cougars. Najiyah Smith also contributed to the team's point total, earning a 5th place finish in the high jump competition. Emenent Richardson picked up more points with a 5th place showing in javelin, while Kayla Johnson capped the day with a 7th place showing in shot put.
On the men's side of things, they would place 12th out of 12 teams.
Demetrius Broadnax set the tone for the Cougars, placing 8th in the 400m race. Seth Sager added to the team's point total after earning an 8th-place finish in high jump.
Track and Field will be back in action for a two-day event on Friday, March 27th, and Saturday, March 28th. The teams make the short trip to Carnegie Mellon University.
