Men's Volleyball Swept by Top Teams in Tri-Match

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Chatham Men's Volleyball (5-3, 0-0 PAC) dropped two matches on Saturday in straight sets to #10 Baldwin Wallace (9-0, 0-0 MCVL) and #4 Juniata (12-1, 0-0 CVC).
 
The Cougars took on the Yellow Jackets in their first match of the day and were defeated 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 27-25).
 
David Thompson was the Yellow Jackets' leader in kills with 12. Cloby Whiteside tallied 9 kills with a .615 hitting percentage and 4 blocks. Tyler Schunk recorded 9 kills and had a match-high 2 aces. Ethan Gundrum had a match-high 5 blocks and 29 assists for Baldwin Wallace.
 
First year Derek Paul led Chatham with 13 kills. Junior Tim McCabe racked up 8 kills. First year Derek Kintzer recorded 7 kills for the Cougars. First year Armani George blocked 2 Yellow Jacket attacks. Sophomore John Gasiorowski had a match-high 11 digs, and sophomore RJ Nagg dished out 22 assists. Chatham hit .144 for the match, while Baldwin Wallace attacked at a .264 clip.
 
The Eagles knocked off the Cougars in their second match of the day, also by a 3-0 (25-11, 25-20, 25-17) final.
 
Felix Baier was the match leader in kills with 12 while hitting .611 for Juniata. Tyler Phillips recorded 7 kills and paced the Eagles in aces (4), blocks (3), and digs (6). Dante Palombo also had 3 blocks, and Will Sierer tallied 28 assists and 6 digs for Juniata.
 
Tim McCabe Chatham's leader in kills with 9. Derek Paul recorded 6 kills and 3 digs. First year Brodey Fitzgerald had a team-high 11 assists for the Cougars.
 
Men's Volleyball will host Carlow on Wednesday at 7 p.m. for their next match.
