Chatham Representatives Attend 2026 Pittsburgh Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Chatham University representatives attended the 2026 Pittsburgh Walk of Fame induction ceremony on Tuesday at The Terminal in Pittsburgh's Strip District.

Head Men's Hockey Coach Michael Gershon and Head Women's Hockey Coach Alex Ochterbeck represented Chatham Athletics at the event, where they met Pittsburgh Penguins legend and 2026 inductee Mario Lemieux.

Lemieux spent his entire NHL playing career with the Penguins and led the organization to Stanley Cup championships in 1991 and 1992. He is the only person whose name appears on the Stanley Cup as both a player and an owner.

The Pittsburgh Walk of Fame celebrates individuals with ties to southwestern Pennsylvania whose accomplishments have made a national impact. Lemieux was one of 10 members of the 2026 class honored during the ceremony.

Chatham Board of Trustees Chair Kent McElhattan hosted a table at the event. Chatham was also represented by President Dr. Lisa Lambert, Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Leonard Trevino, Dean of the College of Health Sciences Jason Edsall and Vice President of Advancement Michael Braxton.

Representatives from the McElhattan Foundation included Executive Director Dr. Jocelyn Kelly, Chief Operating Officer Katherine Chamberlain, Secretary Martha McElhattan and Chairman Kent McElhattan.

Chatham was proud to join members of the Pittsburgh community in celebrating Lemieux and the other inductees whose achievements have left a lasting impact on the region and beyond.
