Pendo, Norkevicus Earn UCHC Weekly Awards

Rochester, NY - On Monday, the United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) released its weekly awards for the week of December 29. Among the players recognized were Cougars defenders Caden Pendo and Ian Norkevicus

Caden Pendo was named UCHC Player of the Week after collecting 6 points, leading Chatham to two decisive wins. The Monongahela, PA native recorded two assists in Saturday's victory.  On Sunday, he upped his game, scoring a short-handed goal and the eventual game-winning goal, while adding 3 more assists to clinch the commanding victory. Pendo recorded the second-highest point total in a single game this season in the UCHC and is currently tied for 3rd on the overall assists leaderboard.

Ian Norkevicus was named Co-Rookie of the Week after a strong showing in the Cougars' weekend sweep. Norkevicus assisted on the game-winning goal in Saturday night's victory against the Mustangs. In game two, he scored a short-handed goal and collected 3 more assists, one of which was on Pendo's game-winner, to help propel the Cougars to another statement win. The Pittsburgh, PA native's game two performance is also tied for second in the UCHC for single game points this season, and finished the week with 5 total points. 

The Cougars will be back in action on January 9th when they host Hiram at 4 pm in the Alpha Ice Complex.
