Nereu Named PAC Player of the Week

TRAFFORD, Pa. - On Monday, the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its weekly award winners for Week 9 of the 2025-26 Women's Basketball season.

Chatham senior forward Madison Nereu earned PAC Player of the Week honors following two stellar performances that helped the Cougars go 2-0 this past week. In Wednesday's win over Waynesburg, Nereu recorded her sixth double-double of the season by dropping 19 points and gathering 11 rebounds. The Cary, N.C. native knocked down all five of her free throws in the contest and added 4 steals. In the third quarter of the victory, Nereu drained a jump shot to record the 1,000th point of her collegiate career. Then on Saturday when Chatham took down Thiel, the Green Level graduate shot 10-12 from the field en route to a 20-point game, her fourth time scoring 20 or more this campaign. Nereu would additionally bring down 8 boards and assist on 6 Cougar baskets in the 31-point rout.

The senior ranks second in the PAC in scoring, averaging 18.3 points per game in 2025-26. Nereu also stands third in the conference in field goal percentage, shooting the ball at a 52.4 percent clip (89-170), and is fourth in the PAC with 9.7 rebounds per game this season.

Nereu and the Cougars will travel to Saint Vincent on Wednesday for their next contest, looking for their fourth consecutive victory in the 5:30 p.m. matchup.
