MEADVILLE, PA - The Chatham men's soccer team (2-5-2, 0-0-1 PAC) hit the road to open conference play against the Allegheny Gators (2-4-4, 0-0-1 PAC), and come back to Pittsburgh with a point secured after a draw.
While the Cougars may have tied with the Gators, their defensive unit had a busy night. Junior goalkeeper
Maxwell Cottrill faced 10 shots tonight and successfully handled all 13 of the Gators corner kicks. This along with the teams defenders kept the Gators off the board.
On the other end of the field, the offense made sure to put some pressure on as well. Sophomore
Izeyah Romo led the Cougars with his two shots on goal, and junior
Justin Knox made sure to add a shot on goal of his own as well.
The Cougars were fouled by the Gators on 18 separate occasions, giving them even more of an edge.
The Cougars will be back at UPMC Graham Field this Saturday, September 27th where they will face off with PAC opponent Franciscan at 3:30 PM.
