After the Cougars built an 11-2 lead the Gators scored a pair of goals late in the half and the Cougars snuck one in before the end of the half taking a 12-4 lead into the break. The Gators started the scoring in the second half as well and much like the first half the Cougars then went on a lo0ng scoring run. This time they scored five straight and 11 of the next 12 once again. That included a 40 yard snipe at the end of the third quarter from Jacob Lubawy who shot from the Cougars side of midfield. At the end of the run the Cougars led 23-6 and the teams traded a goal late as the Cougars won with a final score of 24-7.

The Cougars were led offensively by Marsh who had four goals and four assists for an eight point day. Lubawy added four goals of his own. Thomas Whittaker had three goals. Devin Traister, Ethan Rinker, Luke Iovino, and Paul Freyre all had two goals. Rinker also added a pair of assists. Cody Randal, Tyler Laughlin, Sean Creeden, Owen Millar and Jack Neal added a goal a piece. Randal and Millar had an assist each while Creeden had a pair. Liam Rooney had a pair of assists and Broden Zumbano and Adam Rinker had an assist each. The Cougars used a triad of goalies with Zen Smith starting the game and Brett Zaruba and Mario Pusateri both spending time in net as well. Combined the trio made six saves and had a 46.2% save rate. Randal led the Cougars with eight ground balls and won 18 of his 27 face offs. Jesse Corser-James led the team with two caused turnovers. The Cougars converted on 19 of 21 clear attempts and won 19 of 33 face offs.
