PITTSBURGH, Pa. - On Saturday, the Cougars (6-5, 4-2 PAC) faced off with the GoldenĀ Tornadoes of Geneva (0-13, 0-7 PAC) for the Cougars women's senior day. Before the game there were five seniors recognized. Once the game started, there was never a question to the final result as the Cougars won easily on Senior Day 20-0.
The Cougars got the scoring started with an 11 goal outburst in the first quarter. They took an 11-0 lead into the second quarter where the scoring slowed down. The Cougars once again blanked the Golden Tornadoes in the second quarter, however, the Cougars only managed five goals. A slower paced quarter only in comparison to the first quarter. At halftime, the Cougars held a 16-0 lead. In the second half the Cougars continued to blank the Golden Tornadoes but the scoring slowed dramatically. The Cougars only managed a lone goal in the third quarter and scored three more in the fourth, winning by a decisive 20-0 final.
The Cougars were led by
Sam Beall-Dennell and
Erin Goodwin who had four goals each. Beall-Dennell added an assist as well.
Tessa Hueber and
Bailey Donofrio had matching five point games, three goals and two assists.
Sarah Holt had a pair of goals and
Elizabeth Gallup scored one.
Izzy Davanti assisted on one. Beall-Dennell led the team in ground balls with four and Holt had two caused turnovers that led the team.
The Cougars will be back in action on April 16th when they travel to Greenville, Pa. for a 7 PM start at Thiel.
