PITTSBURGH PA - The Cougars Softball team played against Oberlin in their home opener, dropping the first game and winning the second.
In game one the Cougars fell to Oberlin 8-2.
Anna Borst,
Chelsea Stabile,
Cloe Lopez and
Hannah Chenault all went 1/3 at the plate, with Borst and Stabile scoring the 2 Chatham runs.
Victoria Murren started on the mound for the Cougs, only going 1.2 innings. She let up 2 hits and 5 runs.
Sheaden Berkson came in to relieve Murren, pitching 2.1 herself. Berkson let up 5 hits and 2 runs.Â
In game two, Chatham picked up a victory against Oberlin, winning 5-4 in a walk-off victory. Borst went 2-4 and Isabella Griswold went 2/2 with a double at the plate. It would be
Olivia Harris, who went 1/3, that would single to bring
Hannah Chenault across the plate in the bottom of the 9th.
Cailyn Lucas started on the mound for the Cougars, pitching 5.2 and giving up 9 hits and 3 runs.
Josie Underdonk would finish the game and collect the win, pitching 3.1 and only letting up 1 run and 1 hit.
The Cougars Softball team will be back in action on Wednesday, March 19 against Pitt Greensburg with start times of 3/5pm.
