TRAFFORD, Pa. - On Monday, the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) released its Baseball weekly award winners for Week 3 of the 2025 regular season.
Chatham first year pitcher
Ethan Botkin was awarded PAC Newcomer of the Week following two shutdown appearances on back-to-back days against Wentworth and Russell Sage.
Botkin fired 1 1/3 scoreless innings on Friday, earning the win after allowing no runs on two hits with a strikeout against the Leopards. Then on Saturday, the New Albany graduate entered the game while the Cougars trailed the Gators in the sixth inning and tossed 5 shutout innings, allowing no hits and striking out five. Botkin picked up the win when Chatham walked off the game in the tenth inning. The first year has already racked up four wins on the mound in 2025, while no other pitcher in the conference has more than two.
You can catch Botkin and the Cougars at West Field on Saturday for a doubleheader against Pitt Greensburg beginning at 5 p.m.
