PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Chatham Women's Basketball (5-1, 0-0 PAC) led Pitt-Greensburg (0-4, 0-0 AMCC) throughout Tuesday night's game at the Athletic and Fitness Center and came away with a 97-58 victory.

The Cougars opened the game on a 15-1 run, with senior
Madison Nereu contributing 8 points in the first 5 minutes of the game. Then senior
Alyssa Laukus got in the mix, scoring 7 of the next 9 Chatham points to put the Cougars up 27-8. The second quarter was a bit closer as the Bobcats scored 7 of the first 9 points. Laukus kept her strong performance going, however, scoring 8 points in the frame to give Chatham a 19-point halftime advantage.

After a UPG three-point basket began the second half, 3 three-pointers from senior Hnnah Chenault highlighted a 19-2 Cougar run that put the game away. A
Maria Barela three-pointer to close the quarter gave Chatham a 71-40 lead. In the fourth, Chenault drilled another three to begin the frame, and five other Cougars would knock down shots from beyond the arc to put an exclamation point on the 39-point win.

Laukus was Chatham's leading scorer on the night, recording a game-high 21 points on 7-9 from the field, 9 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 assists and a block. Chenault netted 17 points on 5-10 from three-point range, adding 5 rebounds and 2 assists. Nereu scored 16 points, shooting 8-10 while grabbing 7 boards and assisting on 4 Cougar baskets. Barela dished out a game-high 6 assists and scored 6 points for Chatham.

The Cougars shot a season-high 47.5% from the field, including a season-best 38.7% from beyond the arc. The Bobcats shot 43.8% but had just 48 attempts to Chatham's 80. Pitt-Greensburg was 50% from three-point range for the game.

The Cougars will head to IUP on Friday for an exhibition game a 11 a.m. before hosting Penn State Behrend on Tuesday, Nov. 25 a 6 p.m.
