PITTSBURGH, Pa. - On Monday, US College Hockey Online (USCHO) released their weekly rankings for men's hockey. The Cougars (6-0 overall, 2-0 UCHC) find themselves ranked 15th in the country for Division III men's hockey.
The Cougars are in the rankings for the first time in program history. Earlier this season, in the first rankings of the season, the Cougars picked up their first vote in program history and that single point has grown to 29 as the Cougars doubled their previous best three game win streak with six to open the season.
Returning 2nd Team All American
Nick Cyprian through the first six games leads the UCHC with 12 total points, three goals and nine assists. The Cougars also have three more of the top five players in total points for the conference,
Jake LaRussoin second with 10,
Michael Roby tied for third with 9 and
Bekk McClaine tied for fifth with 8.
Tyler Samodral, LaRusso and Roby are all tied for second in the conference with four goals, while Cyprian, McClaine and LaRusso take the top three spots for assists.
Junior goaltender
Cameron Kuntar leads the UCHC with a goals against average of 1.29 while also leading the conference in save percentage at .958 and saves with 136.
The #15 Cougars will return to action on Friday November 21st when they travel to Brockport, N.Y. for a 7 PM puck drop against the Golden Eagles.
