Rochester, NY - On Tuesday, the UCHC released the players to watch for the upcoming 2025-26 season. Three Cougars were recognized by the conference: Senior Nick Cyprian, Junior Jake LaRusso, and Sophomore Tyler Samadral.
Forward Nick Cyprian, the reigning UCHC Player of the Year and Sid Watson Award Finalist, which is awarded to the NCAA Division III Player of the Year, led the Cougars in the three major offensive categories last year. The Aledo, TX native played in 27 games where he tallied 14 goals and 20 assists for a total of 34 points.
Forward Jake LaRusso comes to Chatham following a two-year stop at Division I Stonehill College. In 20 games with the Skyhawks in the previous two seasons, LaRusso scored 3 goals and added 5 points.
Forward Tyler Samodral is coming off a strong rookie campaign, grabbing a spot on the 2024-25 UCHC All-Rookie Team. Last season, he finished tied for third on the Cougars in points and third in goals, with 16 points and 8 goals, respectively. Samodral also added 20 blocks and 1 game-winning goal.
The Cougars will start their season on Friday, when they will face off against Hiram in game one of the Buffalo State Tournament.
