WAYNESBURG, PA - It was a complete swap of power tonight as the Chatham men's soccer team (3-7-5, 1-2-4 PAC) took a two goal lead against Waynesburg (7-4-3, 2-2-3 PAC), who would later return the favor to tie the game 2-2.
Sophomore
Christopher Colonna wasn't finished finding the back of the net after the Cougars last game. It only took him about four minutes before taking a 1-0 lead against the Yellow Jackets. The Cougars would wait to strike again until the 30th minute when junior
Xavier Johnston would add a goal of his own and make the gap 2-0. Colonna's goal would be assisted by both Johnston and sophomore
Bennett Haas.
The Yellow Jackets would begin to fight back in the second half as they put away a penalty kick in the 17th minute to make the score 2-1. They would then strike again about 10 minutes later to level the playing field with the Cougars.
Junior goalkeeper
Justin Teufel would make seven saves tonight as the Yellow Jackets were able to get nine shots on goal.
The Cougars are back in action this Saturday, October 18th, when they host Grove City at UPMC Graham Field with kickoff scheduled to start at 3:30 PM.
