PITTSBURGH – Chatham Men's Volleyball (0-3, 0-0 PAC) dropped their first of three matches in Erie this weekend to Penn State Altoona (1-1, 0-0 AMCC) in straight sets (25-13, 25-23, 28-26).
Caleb Fries spearheaded the Nittany Lion attack with a game high 10 kills and blocked four Cougar attacks. Michael Hanson registered 9 kills for Penn State Altoona and had 3 blocks. Lucas Petronas recorded a game high 3 service aces, and Mason Grover finished with a game high 23 assists and 9 digs for the Nittany Lions. Penn State Altoona had a hitting percentage of .177 in the match while holding Chatham to a hitting percentage of -.040.
Benjamin Shelestak led the Cougars with 7 kills.
Logan Pack produced 6 kills for Chatham. On the defensive side,
Josh Roncallo stepped up with a team high 4 blocks and 6 digs.
Luke Hoolahan recorded 5 digs for the Cougars, and
RJ Nagg dished out 18 assists.
Chatham will play two matches on Saturday, at 12 p.m. against this weekend's hosts Penn State Behrend, and at 4:00 p.m. against Hilbert in Erie, PA.
