Pittsburgh, Pa. - On Friday, the Cougars (1-11-1) hosted the Buffalo State Bengals (5-10-1) for the first game of the weekend series. The Cougars fell by a final score of 6-1.

The Bengals got the scoring started when they scored the first goal of the game ten minutes in. The Cougars answered right back when Olivia McTavish scored on the assists from Chelsea Clark and Morgan Black. That left the score tied at one after the first 20 minutes of play.

In the second period, the Bengals would strike for another three goals giving themselves a 4-1 lead over the Cougars headed into the final intermission.

In the third period it was more of the same with the Bengals adding two more goals and winning by a final score of 6-1.

The Cougars will be back in action on Saturday January 18th when these two teams play game two of the weekend series with a scheduled 3 PM puck drop. It will also be senior recognition day with a ceremony before the game.
