SANDUSKY, Ohio - Chatham Women's Volleyball was defeated in straight sets in both of their matches Saturday at the Cedar Point Sports Center. The Cougars lost an early morning match to hosts Heidelberg (25-16, 25-19, 25-23) before losing their final match on the opening weekend to Ohio Northern (25-10, 25-15, 25-15).
                 
Chatham's poor hitting percentage (.098) cost them against Heidelberg, whose attacking game overmatched the Cougars. Anneliese Schriber and Riley Tople combined for 26 kills for the Student Princes (1-2). 
Becca Gesner recorded 10 kills for Chatham, and 
Sierra Ricci produced 19 digs. The Cougars had 19 attacking errors in the morning matchup.
                 
Ohio Northern took control early in the second game, using a .342 hitting percentage to rout the Cougars. The Polar Bears (3-1) had 10 service aces in the win. Chatham again struggled with their attacking accuracy, finishing with a .047 hitting percentage in the matchup. 
Zoie Bateman tallied 3.5 blocks for the Cougars (0-4) along with a game-high 9 kills.
                 
Chatham returns to Pittsburgh to take on La Roche in a road matchup on Sept. 6.
