WASHINGTON, Pa. - Chatham Women's Lacrosse (10-8, 6-3) suffered a 14-7 loss to W&J (11-6, 9-0) in the PAC Semifinal on Thursday at Alexandre Stadium.
Junior
Sam Beall-Dennell scored two goals and provided two assists to lead the offense. Her first goal was the 100th of her career. She is now the first player in Chatham lacrosse history, men or women, to reach 100 career goals. Senior

The Presidents struck first at 10:47, but the Cougars responded at 9:05 with a goal from Walter, and then took the lead on a goal from MacConnell late in the quarter. After W&J tied the game again, Hutter scored to give Chatham a 3-2 lead with 12 seconds left in the period. However, the Presidents would score with just three seconds left to end the first quarter in a 3-3 tie.
The Cougars got a goal from Beall-Dennell 35 seconds into the second quarter to pull ahead again, then Beall-Dennell scored again at 9:55 to make it 5-3. W&J answered with two goals in 36 seconds to tie the game at 5. Then, just over two minutes later, the Presidents took their first lead of the second quarter at 6-5 and expanded upon it in 53 seconds to make it 7-5. The two teams traded goals in the last 3:40 of the half as W&J took an 8-6 lead into the break.
In the third quarter, the Presidents scored at 13:14 to increase their lead to 9-6. Donofrio found the net at 9:23 to cut it to 9-7, but W&J responded and regained the three-goal lead three minutes later. The Presidents scored again after a Cougars card to go up 11-7.
W&J scored three times in the fourth quarter and held Chatham off the board to secure their spot in the PAC Championship game.
Shots were 27-22 in favor of the Presidents. Chatham was 0-2 on free-position shots, and W&J was 1-3. Both teams were efficient on clear, with the Cougars at 19-21 and the Presidents 19-23.
This season, Chatham Women's Lacrosse matched their program wins record of 10, which included their first ever playoff victory.
