STEUBENVILLE, Oh. - Softball headed to Ohio to take on the Franciscan Barons. They defeated the Barons in both contests, winning game one 21-0 and game two 9-1.
In game one, it was history in the record books for softball. The 21 runs scored is now a program record for runs in a game. Right behind that is the 20 hits that they had, which is also now first in program history.
Three runs in the first, four runs in the second, nine in the third, and five in the fourth gave the Cougars a 21-0 lead after four innings. Chatham took advantage of four Baron errors.
Junior
Isabelle Griswold hit her third homerun of the season in the third inning.
Sophomore
Hannah Chenault started in the circle for Chatham. Chenault threw three scoreless innings and scattered two hits. Sophomore
Chelsea Stabile threw the final two innings and gave up one hit. Softball outhit the Barons 20-3 in the contest.

In game two, Sophomore
Victoria Murren helped herself with an RBI single in the first inning to give the Cougars an early lead. Things stayed at 1-0 until Chatham exploded for a five run fourth inning. The Cougars received RBI hits from Freshman
Shianne Walker and
Chelsea Stabile. The Cougars scored two more off of Franciscan defensive miscues. Franciscan's lone run came in the bottom half of that inning to cut the lead to 6-1 thru five innings. Chatham scored their three and final runs in the final inning. Walker doubled and brought home Freshman
Sofia Catanzaro and Chenault doubled to score Walker and Grad
Savanna Ahlborn.
