GRANVILLE, Oh. - Softball traveled to Ohio today to take on the Denison Big Red Buzzards. They dropped both games this afternoon, losing game one 10-0 and game two 11-0.
In game one, a seven-run second inning is all the Buzzards would need. They scored two in the third and one in the fourth to make it 10-0 after four innings. The Cougars were outhit 12-1, as Junior
Isabelle Griswold had the lone hit for the Cougars in the top of the fourth. Sophomore
Victoria Murren would only last one inning as Sophomore
Cailyn Lucas came in for two innings. Sophomore
Hannah Chenault threw a scoreless fourth inning.
In game two, it was the basketball standout
Hannah Chenault who got the start in the circle for the Cougars. Again, Denison got off to a hot start and never looked back. A four spot in the first put the Cougars down early and the Buzzards followed that up with a two-run second and third inning. Denison scored three more to put the game out of reach and the mercy rule into effect in the fourth inning while leading 11-0.
The Cougars had two hits in game two, one from Sophomore
Chelsea Stabile and the other from Junior
Emily Seamon.
Softball will prepare for Saturday as they open up PAC play on the road at St. Vincent College.
