Cougars Downed by Tigers in Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Chatham Women's Lacrosse (1-3) took a 20-2 loss in their second game in Puerto Rico against the RIT Tigers (4-1) at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium.

Senior Felicia Hutter and junior Erin Goodwin scored the Cougar goals, both of which were unassisted. Freshman Meghan Cuza-Berry and junior Sam Barrett split time in net, with Cuza-Berry making nine saves.

The Tigers opened the scoring at 13:31 before Hutter tied the game at 10:58, but RIT scored the next six goals, including the first two of the second quarter, to take command of the game. Goodwin's score made it 7-2, but that would be the last of Chatham's goals as RIT scored 13 unanswered to end the game.

The Tigers dominated the shots 37-6 and were 11-11 on clears, while the Cougars were 9-15. RIT was 20-5 on draw controls and 2-7 on free-position shots.

Chatham Women's Lacrosse is back in action on Saturday in a road matchup against Marietta.
