PITTSBURGH, Pa. - February 10th, 2024 - Chatham Women's Basketball (21-3, 17-2) earned an 87-72 win over the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets (4-19, 3-15) on Senior Day at the Athletic and Fitness Center. Before the game, graduate student

Keegan McConahy were recognized as Chatham Women's Basketball's members of the Class of 2024.
Junior
Ashlie Louden led all scorers with 26 points on 9-17 shooting, including 7-12 from beyond the arc. She added seven rebounds, two assists and two steals in 31 minutes. Junior
Aurielle Brunner was 5-10 from the field and 2-5 from deep, finishing with 14 points, four assists, two rebounds and two steals. Sophomore
Alyssa Laukus netted six points, grabbed a game-high eight rebounds and matched her season high with three blocks. Junior
Zelimar Rodriguez scored eight points and led the game with five assists while Fertig tallied nine points with three rebounds.
The Yellow Jackets had a quick start to begin the game, with back-to-back three-pointers starting an 8-2 run, but a layup from junior
Emily Durkee followed by eight straight points from Louden gave the Cougars their first lead of the day at 4:11 in the first quarter. They would not surrender the lead for the rest of the contest. Brunner would score the team's final seven points of the quarter to secure a 19-15 lead.
The second quarter began with a Waynesburg basket to cut the Chatham lead to just two, but two more threes from Louden grew the lead back to eight. Later in the quarter, Louden scored the first six points of a 10-0 Cougar run to make it a 15-point lead. The Yellow Jackets hit two more threes in the final two minutes of the half as the Cougars went into the locker room up 12.
Durkee got the second half started with a trey, but Waynesburg responded with two threes of their own. Junior
Charjae Brock provided four straight points and the Yellow Jackets hit a pair of free throws before the two teams hit six threes on the next seven possessions, resulting in a 17-point Cougar lead. Chatham went into the fourth quarter with a 23-point advantage, their largest of the day, after going 7-10 from beyond the arc in the third period.
The Yellow Jackets outscored the Cougars 23-15 in the final quarter, but two three-pointers from sophomore
Hannah Chenault and one from Brunner helped Chatham keep control of the game.
The Cougars finished the day 31-77 (40.3%) from the field and hit a season-high 16 threes. They also notched a season-high eight blocks and forced 27 Waynesburg turnovers.
Women's Basketball will wrap up the regular season next Saturday at Grove City before heading into the postseason.
