New Haven, Conn. - On Saturday the Cougars played the second game of a two game weekend set at Albertus Magnus and fell by a final score of 2-1 after a late rally attempt fell short.
The Cougars and Falcons were tied after the first period that saw the Cougars dominated 16-4 in shots on goal. Despite the constant attack
Lindsey Batz was able to keep the Falcons off the board in the first period and she would end the game with 35 saves on 37 attempts.
In the second period the Falcons scored the first goal of the game seven and a half minutes into the period. Batz saved another 13 shots in this period.
In the third period the Falcons extended their lead with their second goal of the game. With two and a half minutes left in the third period the Cougars got on the board as
Lily Schmear netted her first goal of the season on the power play assisted by
Morgan Black. That would be the final score despite a late offensive surge.
The women's hockey team will be back in action on Tuesday November 5th when they travel to Lebanon Valley for a 7 PM puck drop.
