Hershey, Pa. - On Tuesday the Cougars traveled to face Lebanon Valley and fell by a score of 5-4 despite offensive standout performances from
Rainey Jessup,
Morgan Black and
Sophia Taylor.
The Cougars came out firing in the first period going up 2-0 seven minutes into the game.
Rainey Jessup netted the first goal for Chatham off the assists from
Ella Sheffer and
Lily Schmear.
Sophia Taylor scored her first goal of the night, she was assisted by
Morgan Black and
Reese Griffin. The Dutchmen answered back with a little over three minutes left in the first period to make the score 2-1 at the end of the first period.
The Dutchmen took control of the game in the second period scoring four goals and took a strong 5-2 lead into the final intermission.
The Cougars made a late charge in the third period scoring two goals in the period. Nine minutes into the period
Sophia Taylor netted her second goal of the night, the first year's first multi goal game, she was assisted by
Rainey Jessup and
Morgan Black. With four minutes to play in the game
Morgan Black cut the lead to one as she scored off the assist of
Rainey Jessup.
Both
Rainey Jessup and
Morgan Black had three points tonight with one goal and two assists.
Sophia Taylor scored two points on her two goals. The Cougars will return to action Friday November 8th, for their home opener with a scheduled puck drop of 3:00 P.M.
