PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2023) - Women's Volleyball earned their third win in a row over PAC competitor Thiel (1-11, 0-0). The Cougars swept the match behind solid serving.
Chatham recorded 12 service aces, with senior
Meghan Dominek (4) and sophomore
Alyssa Leskovac (3) combining for seven. Leskovac and senior
Amelia Bogovich both tallied eight kills and combined for 21 of the Cougars' 57-point total. Seniors
Delaney O'Shea (7),
Jena Williams (7),
Jessica Taney (5) and freshman
Paige Watson (6) all contributed offensively. Freshman
Ava Plunkard led all players with 17 assists, followed by senior
Jessie Spoerndle's 14.
A well-balanced defensive effort held Thiel to a hitting percentage of .067. Dominek led the match with 19 digs, followed by Leskovac with 17. Five other Cougars defended 39 attacks, with
Jessie Spoerndle digging up nine. The Purple and Gray also sent back four Tomcat attacks, with Taney and Williams assisting on four.
The Cougars will look to extend their winning streak to four wins on Sept. 28 at #3 Allegheny (11-5, 0-0).
