WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. (Sept. 2, 2023) - Chatham Women's Volleyball swept (25-22, 25-14, 25-16) tournament host Lycoming to cap off a dominant opening weekend. Freshman
Ava Plunkard's 22 assists in The Cougars' final match of the weekend was representative of the team's well-balanced win.
On the offensive side, The Cougars finished with a hitting percentage of .262 and tallied 40 kills. Four players recorded at least seven kills, with seniors
Jena Williams and
Jessica Taney leading the charge with nine a piece. New addition
Ava Plunkard set up 22 of Chatham's 36 total assists, with senior
Jessie Spoerndle contributing 11.
On the defensive side, The Purple and Gray chalked up 8 blocks and 34 digs. Five players assisted on at least one block, and sophomore
Alyssa Leskovac led all players with four. Senior
Meghan Dominek and Plunkard accounted for half of their team's digs, with seven players all contributing at least one.
The Cougars' next match will be at Grove City on Sept. 5.
