Late Goal Pushes Lions Past Cougars

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 16, 2023) - A goal by Penn State Behrend's (2-2-2) Brock Kiefer in the 81 minute broke the tie in Men's Soccer 2-1 loss. The Cougars move to 1-5-1 on the year. 

The Cougars struck first in the ninth minute on a goal by sophomore Mateo Lopez. Chatham would hold the lead until a penalty kick in the second half tied the game. Then, the late goal by Kiefer closed the game in favor of the Lions. 

Behrend had 10 shots on goal to the Chatham's three. The Purple and Gray led the game in corner kicks by the count of 4-3. 

Men's Soccer will host PAC rival Grove City on Sept. 20.
