PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 13, 2023) - The Cougars pushed the John Carroll Blue Streaks (7-2, 0-0) to five sets but fell short (13-25, 25-18, 12-25, 25-23, 13-15). On their worst-hitting night of the season, Chatham recorded 34 attacking errors (.030). 

Senior Jena Williams and sophomore Alyssa Leskovac led the Cougars with a combined 18 kills but struggled to convert on their attacks (.037 combined). Freshman Becca Gesner and junior Aaleyiah Williams contributed seven and five kills, respectively. Junior Natalie Keough and freshman Ava Plunkard assisted 33 of Chatham's 40 kills. 

On defense, six Cougars recorded at least 10 digs, with sophomore Sierra Ricci leading the team with 20. Freshman Zoie Bateman led the match with five solo blocks. 

The Cougars will have another home matchup on Sept. 19 versus the Golden Tornadoes of Geneva.
