PITTSBURGH, Pa. - September 11, 2023 - Chatham Women's Soccer earned its first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over the visiting Carlow Celtics on Monday night. The Cougars are now 1-2-1 on the year.
Chatham struck first when midfielder
Ava Krepp's cross found forward
Grace Gent, who buried the header for her second goal of the season. Midfielder
Lauren Hall also tallied an assist on the goal.
The Cougars increased their lead to 2-0 when forward
Ainsley Smith slotted a shot past the keeper and into the top left corner of the net. Smith now has two goals on the season as well.
Goalkeeper
Hannah Ehrlich made three saves in net for Chatham to earn the shutout.
The Cougars dominated in offensive chances, with an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal and a 8-1 disparity in corner kicks.
Women's Soccer is back at Graham Field on Thursday to take on Penn State Altoona.
