PITTSBURGH, Pa. - April 20, 2023 - Chatham Baseball earned its 14th win of the season Thursday evening against Oberlin College 7-4, setting a new program wins record. The Cougars are now 14-15 on the year.
The Cougars scored first in the bottom of the first when  they worked the bases loaded and sophomore catcher
Tyler Cote singled to score graduate outfielder
Nico Cuello.
The Yeomen responded in the top half of the second to tie the game at 1.
Chatham regained the lead in the following half-inning when freshman outfielder
Peter Tadic scored on a groundout.
The Cougars increased their lead to 4-1 in the third as senior third baseman
Brandon Griener scored on a passed ball and Cote scored on a sac fly from first year infielder
Jason Boller.
Junior infielder made it 6-1 in the fourth with a two-RBI double. Oberlin followed with runs in the fifth and seventh to narrow the gap to 6-4.
Chatham scored their seventh run in the seventh when Boller took home after the catcher made an errant throw back to the mound following a pitch.
Bredl was 2-3 with two RBI and a stolen base. Cote was 2-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Graduate pitcher
Zack Oddi started on the hill for the Cougars, going 5.0 innings with two runs allowed and five strikeouts. Graduate pitcher
Eric Paulin threw 2.1 innings and earned his first save of the year.
Baseball will hit the field again Saturday for Senior Day against the Franciscan Barons.
