WASHINGTON, Pa. - April 15, 2023 - Chatham Softball traveled to Washington this morning for a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup with the hosting Washington and Jefferson Presidents. The Cougars would come out with one of their best performances of the season to win both games by scores of 7-6 and 7-1.

In game one, first-year Victoria Murren surpassed 100 strikeouts on the season, adding ten to her resume this game.

At the plate, senior Mackenzie Dunn would hit her first of two homers on the day while adding a triple, and tallied a team-high three RBIs. Graduate student Kelsey Benjamin had the next highest RBI total coming from a two-run single. Seniors Lauren Haak and Justine Boyle had two hits and two runs each.

First-year Cailyn Lucas picked up her second career win in the circle in game two, registering two strikeouts.

Offensively, the Cougars dominated. Dunn hit yet another home run and tallied another two RBIs to bring today's total to five. Junior Savanna Ahlborn would tie Dunn for the game-high RBI count. Dunn, Haak, and classmate Alyssa Hoffman each had two hits.

With the pair of wins, the Cougars improve to 8-20 overall, 3-9 in the PAC, and extend their win streak to four. They look to stretch the streak to six on Wednesday, April 19th when they travel to Bethany College for another PAC twin bill.
