MEADVILLE, Pa. - April 15, 2023 - Chatham Baseball split its doubleheader against Allegheny on Saturday afternoon, winning the first game 9-8 in comeback fashion and losing the second 6-4. The Cougars are now 12-14 on the season and 5-7 in conference play.
The Cougars plated two runs to begin the first game, with graduate catcher

The Gators got two runs back in the bottom half of the second inning and took the lead with five runs in the third.
Cuello singled up the middle to drive in junior outfielder
Dylan Vogel and cut the Allegheny lead to 7-5 in the fourth.
The Gators increased their lead to 8-5 with a run in the fifth, but Cuello notched another RBI in the sixth with a single that scored DeLuca and again cut the lead to two.
Chatham rallied for three to take the lead in the top of the eighth, thanks to a two-run homer from sophomore catcher
Tyler Cote and yet another RBI from Cuello.
In the first game, Cuello went 4-5 with four RBI. Cuello now leads the Cougars with 26 RBI on the year and ranks fourth in the PAC. Cote was 1-4 with his first homer of the season.

David McSorley pitched 5.0 scoreless innings in relief and got the win.
In game two, Dottle scored on a wild pitch in the first to get Chatham on the board. The Gators answered to tie the game at 1 in the bottom half of the opening frame.
Allegheny took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth, but it was a short-lived lead, as Chatham regained command when Lehman belted his first homer of the season to score three.
However, the Cougars could not hold off the late Gator rally, as Allegheny scored two runs in the seventh and eighth to secure the game two victory.
Lehman was 2-4 with three RBI on his homer. Graduate pitcher
Eric Paulin, who started on the mound for Chatham in game two, struck out six over 5.2 innings and gave up two runs.
Baseball is back in action tomorrow at West Field with a doubleheader against the Bethany Bison.
