MEADVILLE, Pa. - February 8, 2023 - Chatham Men's Basketball came up empty on the road against Allegheny with a 97-74 loss Wednesday night. The defeat puts the Cougars at 11-11 on the year and 10-7 in PAC play.
Senior guard
Marcos Cintron led the team with 21 points on 9-17 shooting. Sophomore guard
Blaine Gartley scored 13 points and added six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Sophomore guard
Isaiah Smith led the Cougars with five assists and added seven points of his own.
Allegheny controlled the first half for the most part, but Chatham kept the game within reach, not allowing the Gator lead to grow bigger than eight points. The Cougars unfortunatley could not keep up in the second half as the Gators quickly grabbed a double-digit lead that reached as many as 26 points.
Chatham won the turnover battle 15-9, but were out rebounded 40-31 and struggled to keep Allegheny's offense in check as the Gators shot 58.3% (35-60) from the field. The Gators were also 18-21 (85.7%) from the free throw line.
Men's Basketball is back on the road Sunday afternoon at Thiel.
