PITTSBURGH, Pa. - February 4, 2023 - Chatham Women's Basketball fell at home to the Grove City Wolverines 91-83 on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Cougars are now 13-7 on the season and 10-5 in PAC play.
Sophomore guard
Ashlie Louden scored a career-high 30 points on 8-19 shooting, including 7-12 from beyond the arc. 30 points is the most by any Cougar this season. First year forward
Alyssa Laukus had 20 points on 8-14 shooting with seven rebounds, which led the team.
The first half was a tale of two quarters, as Grove City stormed to an early lead, ending the first period up 29-16. Chatham would rebound, winning the second quarter 23-13 to go into the break with just a three-point deficit. In the second half, the Wolverines led the whole way, but the Cougars hung around throughout most of it.
Grove City won the overall rebounding battle 49-45, but Chatham held a 25-12 advantage on the offensive glass. The Cougars hit 12 threes, but the Wolverines shot 56.9% (33-58) from the field.
Women's Basketball hits the court again Wednesday evening against Allegheny.
