PITTSBURGH, Pa. - February 8, 2023 - Chatham Women's Basketball took down Allegheny 89-60 on Wednesday night at the AFC. The Cougars are now 14-7 on the season and 11-6 in conference play, matching the program-best mark of 11 conference wins which was set last season.
Sophomore guard
Ashlie Louden scored 20 points by going 4-6 from three-point range and 8-8 from the line. Louden has scored 20+ points four times now this season and leads the PAC in three-pointers made with 49. First year forward
Alyssa Laukus dropped 17 points on 8-11 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds. Laukus leads the PAC in field-goal percentage by a wide margin, scoring at a 52.8% (105-199) clip with the next highest qualified player at just 48.6%. Sophomore guard
Aurielle Brunner netted 14 points and led the team with five assists.
The Cougars opened the game with an 11-0 run and never surrendered the lead. Their 27-8 lead at the end of the first quarter grew to 49-26 at the break. Chatham continued dominating in the second half, leading by as many as 33 points.
The Cougars shot 54.4% (31-57) from the field and 47.4% (9-19) from downtown, both good for season highs. The team notched 20 assists for the fourth time on the year. Chatham out rebounded Allegheny 37-34.
Women's Basketball will return to the court Sunday at noon on the road against Thiel.
