PITTSBURGH, Pa. - February 4, 2023 - Chatham Men's Hockey hosted Arcadia in game two of their regular season series for senior night. After a 4-4 tie that resulted in a 2-0 shootout win for Chatham last night, the Cougars cruised to a 4-1 regulation win.
First-year Brendan Pomerantz would net his first collegiate goal late in the first to give the Cougars the lead. Classmate Caden Smith was credited with the assist.
Halfway through the second, Chatham would strike again, this time on the power-play. Sophomore Matthew Doyle would one-time a pass from junior Chris Dusek to put the Cougars ahead by two, a lead which would extend through the end of the period.
Dusek would score a goal of his own just 25 seconds into the third on the power-play, with assists going to Smith and senior Andrew Warhoftig.
Though Arcadia would score on the power-play, Warhoftig would score an empty-netter thanks to passes from fellow seniors Matt Mood and Lucas Rothe.
Senior Ricardo Gonzalez was busy but strong in net, making 40 saves throughout multiple man-down situations.
With the win, the Cougars gain three crucial points that officially secure their spot in playoffs. They currently sit in third place in the conference with a record of 10-3-3. They look to extend that record to 12-3-3 next weekend at Manhattanville.
