WINTER HAVEN, Fla. - February 26, 2023 - Chatham Baseball dropped Sunday morning's contest with Bates College by the score of 8-4 in the second game in Florida. The loss puts the Cougars at 3-1 on the season.
Chatham surrendered the first run of the game to Bates in the bottom of the second inning, before rallying for two in the top of the third to take the lead. The Cougars worked the bases loaded for graduate catcher

The Bobcats countered with four runs in the bottom of the third to take control of the game. Lehman drove in another run on a sac fly in the fifth and Dottle scored once more on a passed ball in the seventh, but the Bates offense remained hot, scoring three more in the fifth.
Dottle went 2-4 at the plate with two runs scored, while Lehman drew two walks and drove in two runs. Junior outfielder went 1-3 from the dish and scored a pair of runs. Sophomore
Quinn Burke drew two free passes in four plate appearances.
