PITTSBURGH, Pa. - February 18, 2023 - Chatham Men's Basketball beat the Franciscan Barons 94-84 at home on Senior Day Saturday afternoon. The win puts the Cougars at 14-11 to finish the regular season and 13-7 in the PAC.
It was a Senior Day to remember for
Marcos Cintron, who scored a career-high 34 points on 14-24 shooting, setting a new program record for field goals in a game. With the 34-point performance, Cintron now sits just 19 points shy of breaking Chatham's all-time scoring record of 1,236, held by Isaiah Brown. Sophomore guard
Isaiah Smith dropped 23 points on 8-13 shooting. Guard
Nick Fiumara had a nice Senior Day of his own, with 14 points, three rebounds and three steals.
After a first half of multiple lead changes, the two teams went into the break tied at 38, and then the offenses came out in full force. It was a 56-46 second half in Chatham's favor in which Cintron scored 19, Fiumara scored 12 and Smith scored 11.
The rebounds were 34-33 in the Barons favor, but the Cougars won the turnover battle 17-9. Chatham shot 50% (34-68) from the field and 87.5% (14-16) from the free throw line.
Men's Basketball earned the four seed in the PAC Tournament and will host five-seeded Westminster Tuesday night at the AFC.
