Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Carmody Nets Lone Goal in Home Loss to Neumann

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - February 10, 2022 - Chatham Women's Hockey hosted Neumann tonight in their final series of the regular season. A power-play goal in the second would not be enough to take the game, as Neumann would score two unanswered goals before regulation was out.

After a scoreless first period, junior Cameron Carmody would capitalize on a play set up by classmate Kaylynn Savoy and sophomore Rainey Jessup on the power-play.

Unfortunately, the lead only lasted two minutes as Neumann scored their equalizer. A power-play goal for Neumann late in the third would be the nail in the Cougars' coffin as the Knights' goaltender denied several scoring attempts in the final minutes.

Junior Ally Nolan led the Cougar offense with 10 shots on goal, followed by graduate defenseman Ashley Marchant with seven. Carmody and senior Brooke Almond both won a team-high nine face-offs.

Defensively, sophomore Sam Barrett had a team-high three blocks. In goal, junior Lilly Rogers made 19 saves in the loss.

The Cougars host the Knights again tomorrow night at 7 as they celebrate seniors Brooke Almond and Dena Akers.
