LATROBE, Pa. - February 1, 2023 - Chatham Women's Basketball went on the road and defeated Saint Vincent Wednesday evening by the score of 64-55. With the win, the Cougars are now 13-6 on the year and 10-5 in PAC play.
First year guard
Hannah Chenault led the way with 19 points on five three-pointers and four free throws, setting a new season high in scoring. Sophomore guard
Ashlie Louden scored 15 points and led the team in both rebounds and steal, with seven and four, respectively. Sophomore guard
Aurielle Brunner led the team with six assists and tallied three steals to go along with nine points.
Both offenses got off to a slow start, with just a 10-9 Bearcats lead at the end of the first quarter. Things stayed close as the largest lead of the first half was just five and the game was tied at 28 heading into the break. Saint Vincent led by six in the third quarter, but went into the final frame leading by just one. In the fourth quarter, Chenault took over, scoring 13 points to lift the Cougars to victory.
Saint Vincent out rebounded Chatham 56-36, but turned the ball over 20 times and allowed for 17 point off turnovers for the Cougars. Chatham hit 11 three-pointers and went 15-0 from the free-throw line.
Women's Basketball is back in action on Saturday at noon at home against Grove City.
