ASTON, Pa. (Dec. 9, 2023) - Women's Hockey won their eighth game while holding the host Neumann (4-8-1, 0-7-1) scoreless. The Cougars swept the season series against the Knights and have moved up to third in the United Collegiate Hockey Conference standings with a conference record of 6-1-1.
Senior Ally Nolan scored the first two points for the Cougars. The first came off assists from fifth-year Brooke Almond and senior Allie Corser-James. She guided in a pass from Corser-James again on her second goal to give the Cougars the 2-0 advantage heading into the second period.
The Cougars would add to their lead nearly midway through the second on a short-handed goal by Corser-James. Nolan recorded her lone assist of the match, bringing her point total to three before the final period.
Capping off the night, Nolan netted her third goal with the help of Corser-James and Almond. She finished the game with four points to lead the Cougars to their second straight win.
The other points leaders for the game were Corser-James (4) and Almond (2). In net, sophomore Samantha Brophy recorded her first career shutout, making 21 saves.
The Purple and Gray will return home on Jan. 12 against Wilkes.
