Kyle Contessa netted the game-winning goal in overtime against the Lebanon Valley Dutchmen (3-10-0, 2-6-0) to give the Cougars their fifth win. This win gave Chatham the season series over the Dutchmen.
No points were awarded in the first, but Lebanon Valley would score in the second period. The Dutchmen would hold the one-goal lead until early into the third period.
A power play allowed sophomore
True Crowe to tie the game off an assist from
Kyle Contessa. The remaining 12 minutes saw the draw persist, forcing overtime. 55 seconds into the extra period, sophomore
Bekk McClaine found Contessa on a breakaway to score his first collegiate goal and end the game.
Chatham recorded 45 shots (to the Dutchmen's 31), which was the second most all season. The Purple and Gray now stand at 5-7-0 overall and 4-6-0 in conference play.
The Cougars will return to the ice on Jan. 12 against Alvernia.
